The Basic Latent Print Comparison course is a 40-hour training course designed for the beginner latent print examiner, law enforcement officers, crime scene workers, crime lab analysts, and anyone else who could benefit from learning to analyze latent prints.

This in-depth course on the sequential processing of latent prints using both chemical and powder development techniques. Designed for forensic personnel and developing latent print examiners, this course teaches the proper order, application, and scientific reasoning behind each processing methods.

By the conclusion of this course, attendees will be better equipped to perform analytical work at an advanced level and will have strengthened the knowledge base and skill set needed to progress toward IAI certification as a Certified Latent Print Examiner (CLPE).

This course is designed to bring a complete novice in lifting latent prints to a confident practitioner. In just 16 hours, we will be able to give the beginner the knowledge and confidence necessary to excel at lifting latent prints.

Through guided instruction, mock testimony exercises, and real courtroom scenarios, participants will learn how to present technical findings in a way that is understandable to judges and juries, withstand cross-examination, and maintain professionalism under pressure.

This is an entry level course designed to provide Tenprint examiners who are seeking to bridge over to the entry level of latent print examination. This course gives the Tenprint examiners the introductory knowledge and basic training needed to recognize and analyze various types of latent prints.
